ABOUT JOLT ENERGY DRINK

Brand Name

The word jolt in the English language means "a sudden burst of energy." Typically the word jolt is associated with electricity as in "People who stick their fingers into an electrical socket are often jolted." Other words and terms associated with jolt are forceful, powerful, sudden, abrupt, shaken and alarming. These are all perfect words to describe who we are and what we do at The Jolt Company.

History

JOLT was created in 1985 as a refreshing alternative to coffee, a.k.a. The Espresso of Colas. JOLT really was the original "energized" beverage in both name and product. Included on every can and bottle was the memorable slogan "All the Sugar and Twice the Caffeine." JOLT became an instant hit and fueled a generation of college students, software developers and anyone needing a quick pick me up. Today's lifestyles are far more demanding than any prior generation...people are working longer and playing harder. In order to meet the ever-increasing demands for more energy, beverages had to evolve and improve to meet these new needs. In January 2007, JOLT transformed itself from an energized soft-drink to a great-tasting, full-potency Energy Drink. JOLT kept the great-tasting flavor profiles of its beverages but added the optimal amounts of Taurine, Guarana, Ginsing and B Vitamins to make JOLT one of the most powerful and best-tasting energy drinks on the market!

Icon

JOLT's longevity and its sense of thrill has continued to evolve but it remains a cultural icon...a rite of passage. A generation of people remember their first JOLT...not unlike their first kiss or first beer.

Impressive Firsts

JOLT revolutionized the beverage industry by introducing functional marketing. The notion of adding functional ingredients inspired the formation and launch of hundreds of New Age Beverages.

JOLT was the first beverage company to uniformly utilize beer wholesalers as its primary method of distribution. This created an entire alternative distribution system that paved the way for thousands of brands that followed such as Snapple, Arizona, SoBe and more.

JOLT was the first soft drink to sell at a premium price above Coke and Pepsi.

JOLT helped fuel the early growth of the technology industry and quickly became the beverage of choice among internet users, virtual reality enthusiasts, gamers and computer industry employees. For many years, the leading programming periodical, Software Development, has awarded 25 JOLT Awards in recognition for excellence within the computer programming industry.

JOLT was the first soft drink to successfully diversify into non-beverage items such as Jolt Snowboards, Jolt Candies, Jolt Gum, Jolt Mints and more!
